Pro Tips for Creating a Healthy Home
Spring is off to a busy start! We kicked off a new eco-friendly project in Palo Alto and put the finishing touches on Principal Designer Jennifer's healthy home.
A common concern we hear from new clients interested in creating a non-toxic home is
"Will it still look beautiful?" Our emphatic answer: "Yes!"
Take a peek inside Jennifer's family home for proof...

Can You Spy the Non-toxic Upholstery?
The great thing about non-toxic upholstery is that the most significant improvements are invisible! We can design the perfect sofa with sophisticated fabric options and unique design details using healthier foam cushions. For custom pieces we specify natural latex foam wrapped in organic wool, which contain no harmful flame retardant chemicals. Frames are built from sustainably harvested wood with non-toxic, water-based glues. This is the perfect solution for those who are chemically sensitive or who suffer from allergies.

Sustainably Harvested Woods

Our custom tables are made by local craftsmen in San Francisco using FSC-certified solid wood, which is both beautiful and practical. The inevitable scratches and dings from life with young kids can be sanded out and re-finished – extending the life of the table for many years. Win-win!

Create a cozy vibe by layering natural fabrics such as organic cotton and linen and selecting wool rugs, which are durable and eco-friendly. Choose zero-VOC paint which eliminates off-gassing, resulting in safer indoor air quality.

We're thrilled to participate in Sunset Magazine's Celebration Weekend at Cornerstone in Sonoma! Come visit us this Saturday, May 20th at the Delta Faucets "Makeover Studio" for remodeling tips and tricks!

"Bring in organic elements. Trees, succulents and ferns are all good options; just be sure to use them sparingly — one large, sculptural plant is better than a collection of smaller varieties."

Recent Client Testimonial

"From the first on-site visit the depth and attention to detail in the early stages of the design process was impressive and set the project up for success. The process and end result exceeded all expectations. Niche transformed an empty condo into our home". - Steve & Brenda in San Francisco
